Who I amFounder & CEO of Flane

About mePress the keys
Your screen is the context. No copy-pasting into a chat, no explaining. Just hold two keys and talk.
Autocomplete finishes your line. Flane finds the bug, fixes it, and types the code for you.
You know something's broken. You just don't know where. Ask, and Flane reads the file on screen and fixes it in seconds.
Describe the function you need, in any language you speak. Flane types it straight into your editor, line by line.
If you can type in it, Flane can write in it.
All product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
Dictation turns your words into text. Flane turns your words into working code. It looks at your screen, understands the file you're in, then writes, rewrites or fixes the code and types it directly into your editor.
Hold Control + fn, say what you need, and release. Flane thinks inside your MacBook's notch, then makes the change right where your cursor is. You can speak in any language.
Any editor on your Mac: Xcode, VS Code, Cursor, Zed, JetBrains IDEs, Vim and more. Flane is built to be accurate across every major programming language.
Flane is built for code, and only for code. If there's nothing to write or fix on screen, it simply tells you it can't help with that.
No. Flane is made for Apple silicon only: Macs with an M1, M2, M3, M4 chip or newer, running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It shines on MacBooks with a notch, and works on every other Apple silicon Mac too.
Flane only looks at your screen while you're holding the shortcut. Your code is used to answer your request and nothing else.

About me“I was tired of pasting code into chats. Now I just say it — and get my time back.”
Try FlaneTuka Bade: my code finally runs on the first try. Thanks to you. (And a little to Flane.)
The rules for using Flane — the Mac app, Flane Cloud and this website — written to be read.

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of Flane: the macOS application, the Flane Cloud service it connects to, and this website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Flane.
The Service is operated by Alexandre Arnoud, an individual entrepreneur in France (see Legal notice), referred to as “Flane”, “we” or “us”.
Flane is a voice coding assistant for Mac. When you hold control + fn and speak, Flane reads the code in your editor, sends your request to Flane Cloud to be processed by Flane's AI models, and writes the result back into your editor.
Flane is in active development. Features, models and limits may change, be improved or removed over time.
Don't use Flane to:
We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these rules.
You own your code. You give us only the rights needed to process it and return the result — nothing more. We don't use your code, voice or screenshots to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Flane's suggestions are generated by AI and can be wrong, insecure or incomplete. Review changes before you run, ship or rely on them. Every change Flane makes can be undone in your editor with ⌘ Z. You're responsible for the code you keep.
The Flane app, name, logo and website belong to us. You may use the app as provided; you may not copy, modify or redistribute it. Third-party product names and logos shown on this site belong to their owners and are used only to indicate compatibility.
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data or damage caused by code you chose to keep. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
You can stop using Flane and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you break these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (such as liability and intellectual property) survive termination.
These Terms are governed by French law. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve things. Consumers in the EU may also use a consumer mediator.
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

| Each voice command: the audio of your command, the code of the open file, a screenshot of the editor window, the app name and window title | Understand your request and write the answer — processed in real time, not stored by Flane after the reply | Contract |
| Usage counter: date and an anonymous ID for each command | Count requests against your plan's monthly limit | Contract |
| Subscription: plan, status, renewal date, Square customer and subscription IDs | Give you the plan you paid for | Contract |

Your command history (summaries and transcripts), preferences and diagnostic logs are stored only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Flane and ~/Library/Logs/Flane. Your sign-in session is kept in the macOS Keychain. Uninstalling Flane and deleting these folders removes them.
When your code is longer than the screen, Flane reads the open file from disk to see all of it — only at the moment you give a command.

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and give instructions about your data after death (French law). We'll update this page when our practices change and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant.
Flane can read and type in your editor, so it's built to do as little as possible, only when you ask.

| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Hearing your command while you hold the keys |
| Accessibility | Reading the code in your editor and typing the change |
| Screen Recording | A screenshot of the editor window at the moment you speak |
| Input Monitoring | Detecting control + fn from any app |
You can revoke any of them in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Found a security issue? Email hello@flane.website with “Security” in the subject and steps to reproduce. Please give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We don't take legal action against good-faith research that respects users' privacy.
Everything you need to go from download to your first fix in a couple of minutes.
Flane.dmg and drag Flane into Applications.Tip: in System Settings › Keyboard, set “Press 🌐 key to” → “Do Nothing”, so macOS doesn't open emoji or dictation when you press fn.
Speak in any language — Flane answers in the language you used. You don't need to click in the editor first: Flane finds the code area itself.
| Model | Best for |
|---|---|
| Flane Fast | Quick fixes and small edits — the default |
| Flane Middle | A balance of speed and reasoning |
| Flane Pro | Hard bugs and bigger rewrites — thinks the longest |
Change it in Flane › Settings › Model.
When your file is longer than what fits on screen, Flane reads the whole open file with line numbers, so you can refer to code you can't see. Changes are always written in your editor, never directly to disk.
Pro (100 requests/month), Max (1,000) and Ultra (unlimited). See and change your plan in Flane › Plan. Counters reset on the 1st of each month.
Check that Input Monitoring and Accessibility are allowed for Flane in System Settings › Privacy & Security, then quit and reopen Flane.
Flane couldn't find the code area (some editors hide it from macOS). Click once in your code and try again.
Set “Press 🌐 key to” → “Do Nothing” in System Settings › Keyboard.
macOS applies this permission after a restart of the app: quit Flane and open it again.
Quit Flane from the menu bar, then drag it from Applications to the Trash. To also remove local data, delete ~/Library/Application Support/Flane. To delete your account, write to hello@flane.website.
One gesture does almost everything. Here's the rest.
| Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|
| control + fn (hold) | Talk to Flane. Release to send. |
| esc | Cancel while Flane is listening or thinking |
| ⌘ Z (in your editor) | Undo Flane's last change in one step |
| You say | Flane does |
|---|---|
| “Fix the error on line 42” | Finds the bug and fixes it in place |
| “Write a function that…” | Writes new code at your cursor |
| “Refactor this into smaller functions” | Rewrites the code, keeping your style |
| “Add comments to this file” | Documents the code |
| “Translate this to Python” | Rewrites the file in another language |
| “Why does this crash?” | Explains, in the notch, without changing code |
Any language works — say it in French, Spanish, Japanese… Flane answers in the same language.
What's new in Flane. We ship improvements every week.
Flane is a voice coding agent for Mac. It lives in your notch, reads the code you're looking at, and writes the fix where your cursor is.
Fixing code still means copy-pasting into a chat, explaining what's on your screen and pasting the answer back. Flane removes all of that: look at the code, say the fix, keep going.
Native to the Mac, private by default, and only active while you hold two keys. Flane is in active development and gets better every week.
“I've had this idea for a very long time. Flane is that idea, finally real.”
A real person reads every message.
